Recipe
Honey Garlic Chicken
A family favorite from just four main ingredients.

Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 small garlic clove, minced (use ½ clove for a milder garlic flavour)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
Method
- Cut the chicken breasts into small, even bite-size pieces so they cook quickly and evenly.
- Place a frying pan over medium heat and add the olive oil. Let it warm for about 1 minute.
- Add the chicken pieces to the pan in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the chicken for about 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pieces are lightly browned and almost cooked through.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring often so the garlic does not burn.
- Pour the honey over the chicken and stir well to coat all the pieces.
- Continue cooking for another 2–4 minutes, stirring often, until the honey thickens slightly, darkens to a golden colour, and coats the chicken.
- Remove from the heat once the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink in the middle. If using a thermometer, the chicken should reach 165°F / 74°C.
- Serve warm with rice, noodles, vegetables, or salad.
Notes, tips & variations
- Keep the heat at medium or slightly lower once the honey is added. Honey can burn quickly if the pan is too hot or if it cooks for too long.
