PNG ZIP25 individual 3×5 imagesWhy choose 3×5 recipe cards?
The 3×5 recipe card is the traditional compact format. It slips into many vintage and modern index-card boxes, costs less to print in batches and keeps everyday recipes concise. It is especially practical for ingredient lists and directions that fit comfortably on one side.

What size are these printable recipe cards?
Every card is exactly 5 inches wide by 3 inches high in landscape orientation. Each PNG is 1500×900 pixels at 300 DPI, so the files print at a true 3×5 size when you choose 100% or Actual Size.
How many 3×5 recipe cards fit on one Letter sheet?
The printable PDFs place four exact-size cards on each US Letter sheet. The cards are rotated on the page so two columns and two rows fit without shrinking. Cut along the crop marks, then turn the finished cards to landscape orientation.
Will these cards fit a standard 3×5 recipe box?
Yes. The finished cards are made for boxes, dividers and sleeves that accept standard 3×5 index cards. Check the inside dimensions of an older box if it has unusually thick dividers or rounded corners.
Is a 3×5 card large enough for a full recipe?
A 3×5 card works best for concise recipes, family favourites and dishes with shorter ingredient lists. For longer instructions, use the back of the card, a second card, the 4×6 format, or the larger 5×7 templates.
How do I print the cards at the correct 3×5 size?
Print the PDF at 100% or Actual Size and turn off Fit to Page or Scale to Fit. The crop marks show the exact 5-by-3-inch boundary. The final PDF page contains the remaining card from each 25-design pack.
Can I print just one card, or use a different size?
Yes. Download the PNG ZIP to get 25 individual files. Open any one design and print it on its own. These files are already made at a true 3×5 size; for another standard format, use the dedicated 4×6 or 5×7 page so the artwork and writing areas retain the correct proportions.
What card stock works best?
Go heavier than regular printer paper so compact cards survive real kitchen use — roughly 65–110 lb cover, about 175–300 gsm. Check your printer’s maximum supported weight before loading the heaviest stock.

Should I print in color or on cream / off-white stock?
The color designs pop on bright white. Cream or off-white stock gives the simpler, botanical and vintage 3×5 designs a warmer heirloom look and can reduce the amount of color ink needed. Both work; it is mainly a style preference.

Laser or inkjet — which printer is better for recipe cards?
For cards that live in a kitchen, laser is the safer bet because toner is heat-fused and is less likely to smear after a splash or a wet hand. Inkjet usually produces richer photo color, but it can smudge when wet unless the finished card is protected or laminated.

How should I store and organize my printed cards?
A 3×5 recipe box with A–Z or category dividers is the classic compact setup. Alphabetize by recipe name or group cards into mains, sides, baking and desserts. Clear sleeves or lamination help protect the cards from splatters.

Can I edit the cards, or only print them?
They are designed to print and fill in by hand, but you can also add typed text in most image, document or PDF-editing apps. Use the individual PNG files when you want to edit one design without opening the full printable pack.
Are the 3×5 recipe card templates really free?
Yes. No account, email address or subscription is required. The cards are copyright free and no attribution is required, so you may print and personalize them for private or commercial projects.
Where can I find recipes to write on the cards?
The free Dinner123 app includes a built-in cookbook with hundreds of recipes to browse, save and plan around. Use it to find a keeper, then copy the recipe onto your chosen card.
