What size are these large recipe cards?
Every card is exactly 7 inches wide by 5 inches high in landscape orientation. Each PNG is 2100×1500 pixels at 300 DPI, so the files print at a true 5×7 size when you choose 100% or Actual Size.
How many 5×7 recipe cards fit on one Letter sheet?
The printable PDFs place two exact-size 5×7 cards on each US Letter sheet, one above the other, with crop marks for trimming. The final PDF page contains the remaining card from each 25-design pack.
How much more writing room does 5×7 provide?
A 5×7 card has 35 square inches of area. That is about 46% more space than a 4×6 card and about 133% more than a 3×5 card, making it useful for long ingredient lists, detailed methods and notes.
Will 5×7 cards fit a standard recipe box?
Only if the box is designed for 5×7 cards. Standard 3×5 and 4×6 boxes are too small. A 5×7 photo box, binder, protective sleeve or dedicated large recipe-card box is the safer choice.
How do I print the cards at the correct 5×7 size?
Print the PDF at 100% or Actual Size and turn off Fit to Page or Scale to Fit. Cut along the crop marks. Because the cards are single-sided, you do not need to align front and back printing.
Are 5×7 recipe cards easier to read?
They can be. The larger format leaves more room for bigger handwriting, typed text and wider spacing between recipe steps. That can make a card easier to scan while cooking without crowding the instructions.
Can I print just one card, or use a different size?
Yes. Download the PNG ZIP to get 25 individual 2100×1500 files and print only the design you need. These files are already made at a true 5×7 size; for another standard format, use the dedicated 3×5 or 4×6 page so the artwork and writing areas retain the correct proportions.
What card stock works best?
Go heavier than regular printer paper so the larger cards stay flat and survive real kitchen use — roughly 65–110 lb cover, about 175–300 gsm. Check your printer’s maximum supported weight before loading the heaviest stock.
Should I print in color or on cream / off-white stock?
The color and photo-heavy designs look strongest on bright white. Cream or off-white stock gives botanical, vintage and minimalist 5×7 cards a warmer heirloom look. Both print well; choose based on the design and the collection you want to build.
Laser or inkjet — which printer is better for recipe cards?
For cards that live in a kitchen, laser is the safer bet because toner is heat-fused and is less likely to smear after a splash or a wet hand. Inkjet usually produces richer photo color, which suits the larger photo-based designs, but it can smudge when wet unless the finished card is protected or laminated.
How should I store and organize my printed cards?
Standard 3×5 and 4×6 boxes are too small. Use a 5×7 photo box, large recipe-card box, binder or protective sleeves, then organize alphabetically or by category. Clear sleeves or lamination help protect these larger cards from splatters and repeated handling.
Can I edit the cards, or only print them?
They are designed to print and fill in by hand, but you can also add typed text in most image, document or PDF-editing apps. The 2100×1500 PNG files are especially useful when you want to edit and print one 5×7 design at a time.
