Golf Darts World Tour — The best way to play Golf Darts! — against a sunlit golf course

Golf Darts World Tour Strategy:
Pro Tips to Lower Your Score

How can I lower my Golf Darts score?

  • Par is a good score.

Accept good scores when you want to play it safe. Throwing again could replace your score with something worse.

  • Par-3s are the hardest holes.

The treble (center section) is a bogey, and a birdie is the only opportunity to score under par apart from a Hole-in-One.

  • Par-5s are the “scoring holes.”

They have the most scoring rings. Take advantage of these holes, especially if you have 2 darts left in your turn.

ON A BLANK COURSE · STANDARD DARTBOARD

Choose the par. Change the game.

Choosing the par adds an extra tactical decision to every hole—a fun twist on fixed-par golf. On a standard dartboard, you or your best-ball team gets to choose the par when throwing first.

Leading? Protect your lead.

Pick a Par-3 to make it harder for opponents to catch up.

Trailing? Chase a comeback.

Pick a Par-4 or Par-5 to give yourself more chances to gain ground.

FOR BEST-BALL TEAMS

Open safe. Close to score.

Arrange play order from least skilled to most skilled.

FIRST PLAYER

The Opener

The first player to throw—the Opener—plays it safe by aiming for par and stopping once they hit it, even if they have darts left to throw.

LATER PLAYERS & FINAL PLAYER

The Closer

With par already secured for the team, later players—including the final player to throw, the Closer—can use all three darts to aim for better scores. The team cannot finish worse than par, regardless of where their last darts land.
